MILRS Webinar

In collaboration with ISER-UTP, the MILRS held an online webinar on February 26th 2025 via online platform. The theme of the seminar was “Gas Hydrate Inhibition – Role of Ionic Liquids”. The speakers were:

MILRS and UMCIL Q1 Public Talk

UMCIL in collaboration MILRS held a public talk by Prof. Yu-shu Chang from the National Taipei Universiti of Technology on April the 6th, 2023. The event was held at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya.

MILRS Innovative Poster Competition

MILRS in collaboration with UMCIL held a poster competition with the theme: Breakthrough of Ionic Liquids & Deep Eutectic Solvents in SDGs push. The competition offers up to RM650.

MILRS AGM was held in January 2020 at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS followed by Ionic Liquids symposia and postgraduate poster competition. A webinar took place in September, 2020 with Dr Khairulazahar Jumbri and Dr Woi Pei Meng as the speakers.

MILRS AGM was held in March 2019 at Universiti Sains Malaysia followed by Ionic Liquids Symposia.

LRGS Discussion

MILRS initiated a Joint Application for funding. A one day workshop was held in November 2016 in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS to discuss the proposal.

Ionic Liquids Symposium

The 1st Malaysian Ionic Liquids Group symposia was held at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in October 2015 followed by MILRS meeting. The keynote speaker for the symposia was Prof Douglas R. MacFarlane from Monash University, Australia.

Informal Ionic Liquid Group Meeting

The idea idea to form the group was initiated in September 2014 at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. Registration with ROS in 2015. The objectives for the society was as the following:

1. To formalise a group that is working on ionic liquids in Malaysia comprising of researchers in Malaysia

2. To work and collaborate on common research areas

3. Opens opportunity for networking
